LTK: June 5, 2010

This was my outfit pretty much all weekend long. Only got one photo, so please excuse the cheesy, artsy liberties I took with the image:

I picked up a couple of chambray button-ups in different washes on sale at the Gap a while back and I can't stop wearing them -- they're just so easy, comfortable and effortless.  I also wanted to make an effort to try out my clogs with a pair of skinny jeans, because I've pretty much been wearing them exclusively with dresses and I want to be getting a lot more use out of them.  I'm not a hundred percent sure whether they actually work with my Cheap Mondays, but I'm getting used to the proportion and I think I like it.

My tote is a replica of the Goyard St. Louis as seen here on the arm of Hillary Duff (whom I love and I will not even apologize for it):

Now, I'm really not an advocate of faux designer bags, but a coworker recently visited NYC and brought this bag back to me from Canal Street, not knowing my stance on replicas.  I feel a little guilty carrying it, but as it was a gift I want to use it and I have to admit it's really roomy and great for schlepping my things around on the weekend, so try not to judge me too harshly.  Its main saving grace for me is that at least the St. Louis isn't a huge "it" bag like the Stam or the Speedy, so it's not instantly recognizable (and therefore instantly recognizable as a fake).

And since it ain't real, I had no compunction about sticking a couple holes in it:

The vintage Slayer "War Eagle" pin was an amazing thrift store find by a couple of my girlfriends, who discovered it tacked to the crepe de chine collar of an incredible knit '80s minidress and realized that it was clearly a sign and the dress and pin were obviously meant for me.  (Seriously, wait until I post a photo of the dress, because it's fucking intensely killer.)  I'm kind of obsessed with this pin because I'm kind of obsessed with Slayer.

Outfit details, bitches:
Denim chambray shirt: $20 on sale, Gap.
Black skinny jeans: Cheap Monday, $60, Barney's CO-OP.
Gold bangle: $4, H&M.
Mixed-metal chain ring: $10 on sale, Banana Republic.
Platform clogs: Jeffrey Campbell, $130, Solestruck.com.

And you guys, sorry again about the lack of updates lately.  Things are crazy right now with my band (CUNT SPARRER) and I've been busy trying to get everything in order for our mini-tour of the Bay Area which is next week!  Here are all our upcoming dates in case any of you want to come out and grab a beer with me:

06/11/10 - with Jesse Malin (of D Generation) at Alex's Bar, Long Beach, CA
06/13/10 - with Blue Jungle at Nomadic Image, Santa Ana, CA
06/17/10 - with U.S. Bombs at Slim's, San Francisco, CA
06/18/10 - with U.S. Bombs at Shire Road Club, Sacramento, CA
06/19/10 - with the City and the Minks, Stork Club, Oakland, CA
07/06/10 - with Knives, Di Piazza's, Long Beach, CA

I'd love to meet any WR2BAMmers, so if you like semi-acoustic flea market oi covers and you can make it out, that would be super rad!

Oi! I would love to be a total creep and see you perform, but there is the slight issue of about three thousand miles. You look great, though!
