Of The Moment: Clog It To Me
With all due respect to the Upper East Side's fictional HBIC, Blair Waldorf got it wrong on Monday's (hotly anticipated -- by me, anyway) episode of Gossip Girl:
Blair: Well, I can see my advice went the way of the clog.
Serena: What are you talking about?
Blair: An ugly wooden shoe that tried to make a statement and then disappeared.
Sorry, Gossip Girl writers, but methinks you need to start paying a little more attention to the runways, because the clog is suddenly far from ugly and it's about to do the opposite of disappearing. Thanks to the highly covetable platform clogs Chanel trotted out for Spring 2010 last fall, you can mark my words when I say there's about to be a veritable explosion of the style coming your way.
The best spring trends are just now beginning to trickle down from the runway to the real world, and already mid-priced clogs are sprouting up everywhere. Because it's still early in the season, right now what's available is still a little on the pricey side, but I'd bet money that we'll be seeing clogs everywhere from Bebe to Bakers to H&M to Forever 21 as the weather warms up, so if none of these are appealing to you, there's no need to fret. But if you're ready to get your paws on some clogs now, here are a few early adopters:
1.) Jeffrey Campbell "Charli-C" clog, $124.95, Nordstrom.
2.) "Lottie" clog mules, $135, Topshop.
3.) "Daynty" platform clog, $89.95, Steve Madden.
4.) Stuart Weitzman "Studclog" open-toe clog, $345, Zappos.*
5.) Jeffrey Campbell "Snick" platform sandal, $124.95, Nordstrom.
6.) Mango mule-heeled shoe, $94.02, ASOS.
*Granted, the Stuart Weitzman pair is way pricier than what I usually feature on WR2BAM, but my roommate has been flipping her shit over these for about a week and frankly they are basically perfect, so I had to include them.
What do you think about this trend? Are you on board or do you hold the same opinion about clogs as Queen B? Let me know in the comments!
XOXO,
Gossip Sara

i'm still not completely sold on the slides but those slingback wedges need to be MINE.
Good call! I like how the Jeffrey Campbell ones can be slides or slingbacks
I'm on board, and I bought the JC Charli clogs in natural a few weeks ago. I love them because they are not peep toe and they elongate my short legs.
was just thinking today about how i need these shoes. the JC clogs are amazing.
candies has been making this style of shoes...FOR YEARS
I'm with Miss B on this one... I just don't see the appeal of clogs at all. For some reason clogs remind me of both Heidi and old ladies. That's really unfortunate.
Clogs remind me of the shoes I used to wear in 8th grade. I still think there's some sort of fashionable appeal to them-- maybe with super high platforms or studs...
But when it comes to thicker heels, I'll stick with wedges!
I've been following your blog for some time and finally created my own. I put you on my link list, so please feel free to check out my blog and use my link if you would like.
