Not too shabby this month. I used all my stickers, but then I couldn't find a lot of the stuff I tagged online. Still, I'm definitely getting amped for spring!
1.) I like the tarnished brass finish of this geometric necklace; I think it would look good mixed with silver jewelry and worn with something with a feminine pattern. "Geo Diamonds" necklace, $48, Loyalty & Blood.
2.) Stoked to have been turned on to the new webstore for Eagle Rock boutique Lady, which boasts really cute stuff at shockingly reasonable prices. I was loving this really easy striped tunic dress, and the gold spike necklace is great and totally reminds me of the multi-spike necklace I already have. "3 Spikes on a Chain" necklace, $58, and "Straight A's" tunic dress, $72, Lady.
3.) Shirtdresses are basically ideal for work but I usually find them too boring. I like this one for its voluminous sleeves, self-belt, and contrasting buttons. It also comes in a rich cerulean that I'm kind of loving. Twill shirt dress, $68, Tulle.
4.) When it comes to sandals, I prefer ankle straps, banded toes, and unusual details. Check, check, and check. These ones are a little pricey, but they remind me of a summer version of my studded gray suede Zara ballet flats, and I know I'd wear the shit out of them. Ash "Monoi" studded sandals, $195, Shopbop.
5.) Another pair of cool sandals that rings all my bells. I really like the neutral shade and the white, tribal-inspired embroidery. Kind of boho without being all trying-too-hard. Vintage America Collection "Captivate" sandals, $69, Nine West.
6.) You know I'm always on the lookout for decent makeup products. The idea of a tinted lip balm that actually does what it promises -- you know, both tints and refreshes your lips -- is exciting and I'm feeling the deep berry shade. Ultra Rich Lip Tint in Madge Mauve, $19, Clark's Botanicals.
7.) Spool No. 72 is another online shop I'm really excited to have been introduced too. The clothes on offer have a vaguely '70s, southwestern feel, authentically bohemian without the hippie cheesiness. I'm especially into the lacy blouses, really cozy-looking sweaters, and bags made from Indian blankets. "Buck: Indian rug clutch, $85, and "Snowday" sweater coat, $62, Spool No. 72.
8.) Considering I was a ballerina for the better part of a decade, I should have thought of this myself by now -- Lucky suggests using Capezio lamb's wool (dancers use it to cushion their toe shoes) to solve fit issues and toe slide in your high heels. So much better than stuffing crumpled paper towels in there to deal with it, which I admit I have done on several ocassions, and which is totally not cute. Lamb's wool, $6.50, Capezio.
9.) I spent my misfit adolescence feeling wildly out of place in Newport Beach, CA, surrounded by mean surfer girls in Roxy rashguards, so I've been opposed to the brand for years -- as a teen I wouldn't be caught dead in it, and the attitude kind of stuck. Now I have to reassess, because Cynthia Rowley is doing a capsule collection for Roxy that comes out next month, and even though much of it is still too beach-bunny for my tastes, it's good: neoprene bodycon dresses, perfect round sunglasses, and these super-fringy sandals, just for starters. Kind of really exciting...check out the preview and the official lookbook over at Nitrolicious.
10.) I've been secretly longing for a pair of saddle shoes for years, but the only people I ever see wearing them in real life are rockabilly chicks, and that's not my steez. I think I'm almost ready to take the plunge, though, because I'm totally feeling this classic gray-and-white pair and I think they'd look super cute with bare legs and short hemlines come spring. "Enfield" American classic saddle shoes, $69, Bass Shoes.
What were you into this month?

The sandals in #4 are almost identical to a pair my mom bought me from wetseal, they are only $20.

I'm loving stripes right now too, Obscura. And thanks for the heads up on the sandals, Kay, those are sweet and so much cheaper!
dude i'm always so scared of looking rockabilly! i feel like as a former punk it was nailed into my brain that looking too rockabilly is a no-no. this is finally the year where i'm saying "fuck it!" and doing all those things i've wanted to do that i was scared of. i totally decided polka dots are ok now. oh, and since i'm growing out my bangs i have been kinda doing a katy perry-esque off center pompadour thing with the front of my hair... and guess what? i still don't look rockabilly.
