I love the look of the Pendleton/OC stuff (above left) -- the Chief Joseph print coats are so killer; I'm especially enamored of a cropped biker style I couldn't find online -- but at upwards of $400 a coat, it's just not happening. So I was pretty stoked on finding this Indian blanket-print coat (above right), which has the same vibe for a fraction of the price. The BB Dakota "Albuquerque" coat is $119.99 at Modcloth and I've seen it on a few other sites as well. Use the coupon code modfriend at checkout for 10% off!
If that price is still sounding a little steep, I'm sure Forever 21 will have something similar in the next few weeks. And if authenticity is your bag, search Ebay for vintage Pendleton Western jackets, which you can find in a variety of prints and price points.

hey! thanks so much for the modcloth discount info! came in very handy when i bought the blogged BB Dakota jacket! i was crazy for the pendleton stuff too but way too out of my price range! can't wait to get it :)
