Sorry it took me a couple of days to get this up! I've been pretty busy lately. This is what I wore to work on Friday -- I love this silk skull-print blouse and I figured the day before Halloween would be the one day a year that I could get away with wearing it to work!
I'm not usually into skull motifs on clothes, particularly prints -- they're a little obvious for me, and I don't like that whole Hot Topic post-punk stars-and-skulls thing, but when I spotted this sheer blouse back in September I had to have it. The design of the skulls themselves is a little more organic, a little edgier (one friend said they reminded him of Skullphone, a fairly prominent graffiti artist around here), and I like that the colorway varies between off-white and a more tea-stained shade:
Off-work, I play up the sheerness of this blouse and wear it with just my bra underneath (as Karl Lagerfeld has said, if you're afraid of actually showing skin under sheer looks, you just shouldn't wear them!), but for work I wore an American Apparel camisole to keep everything PG, and paired it up with basics.
Sheer silk skull-print blouse: Zara, $40.
Black cropped cardigan: Forever 21, $16.
Ankle-zip jeans: Miss Sixty "J-Lot," $80.
Black suedette platforms: Michael Antonio, $50, Endless.
Sterling and CZ studs: Banana Republic, $19.
CZ cluster ring: Banana Republic, $23.
Sterling signet ring: Courtesy of Like Beau.
And in the Halloween spirit, here's a requisite shot of my costume (my roommate and I were Wayne and Garth from "Wayne's World"):
You can see all my Halloween photos over at WR2BAM:LIFE (which is back on the regularly-updated tip after being neglected for a while), and you can also read about how I drunkenly dropped and broke my digital camera, so this will be the last LTK until I can buy a new one. Whoops!
