The Lucky List: November 2009

A short but sweet Lucky list this month...

Click for full size.

1.) I'm hardly the type of girl to hotly anticipate that telltale robin's-egg-blue box every time the holidays roll around, but since the Tiffany Keys collection came out I find myself pausing every time I come across the ads. They're just so simple and elegant and lovely. A little out of my price range (though quite inexpensive by Tiffany's standards), but something to put on that Christmas list this year, perhaps. Sterling silver crown key pendant, $175, 18k gold heart key charm, $250, titanium and silver oval key pendant, $150, Tiffany & Co.

2.) Anyone with even a passing interest in trends will be aware by now that the It nail shade for fall is green. I featured forest green polish à la Vena Cava back on the September list; now here's a très Chanel, très chic jade green which will work surprisingly well as a neutral on nails this season. Essie nail polish in Mint Candy Apple, $8, available November 1st.

3.) A great new e-tailer to bookmark: Covet Shop is an online consignment store with a constantly replenishing, meticulously edited inventory of gently used designer clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories, all priced to sell. This Diane Von Furstenberg sweater, tags still attached, is going for $145 (it retails at $285), and these suede Miu Miu wedges are on sale for a mere $88! I'll be checking back regularly for deals, since you never know when things in your size might appear. www.covetshop.com

4.) Maybe my new Banana Republic earrings got me started, because I find that I now have a taste for unusual little studs to add pop or polish to an outfit. For days when I'm wearing gold, I've got my eye on these sweet-but-sassy little gold hearts. The black snakeskin print adds a little edge to a traditionally feminine shape. Python heart studs, $25, Betsey Johnson.

5.) Another piece that's a shade pricier than usual, but I love the look of black-leather-covered jewelry so much right now that I needed to include this if only to remind myself to be on the lookout for cheaper versions. It's interesting how the black leather lends a real sophistication to a simple studded bangle. Studded cuff, $195, Wendy Nichol.

6.) This Sephora sampler comes with ten deluxe-sized samples of their most popular perfumes, including Gwen Stefani's L and Vera Wang Princess. Once you decide which scent you like best, take the included voucher back to Sephora and trade it in for a full-sized bottle of your favorite. Kind of a genius idea for a Christmas present (which is obviously Sephora's intent here), but it's also a smart personal buy if you're the type who has difficulty commiting to a fragrance. Scent Sampler Favorites For Her, $50, Sephora.
