LTK: October 12, 2009

My boyfriend Rusty is a gun enthusiast, so we take a lot of weekend trips to Wal-Mart because the ammo is cheap there. Now, I have never been a big Wal-Mart fan, but this weekend while Rusty perused the sporting goods aisles, I decided to go check out the clothes just to see what they had on offer. Wal-Mart has been slowly trying to catch up with Target with their designer collaborations -- they offer an ongoing collection by Norma Kamali, and currently in stores are also several pieces co-designed by Max Azria and (I'm loath to say it) Miley Cyrus which are actually pretty cute (shh!)

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by the Norma Kamali careerwear, and I ended up walking out with this dress for twenty bucks:

Gotta admit that this dress is cuter than anything Target's designer collabs have going on right now -- the cutout neckline feels very on-trend, and you know I love a bell sleeve. The tights I picked out ended up not being as opaque as I would have liked, but they're still OK.

The shoes are also new. I picked up a pair of super cute gray suede T-straps with metallic pewter stitching on sale at the Cerritos Mall this weekend for $20, and they were having a buy-one-get-one-half-off promotion, so my boyfriend Rusty selected these for me. They add 5½" to my height and are supremely comfortable:

And here are my earrings for the day, cute little hematite clusters (still on my stud obsession):

THANK GOD! I am not alone on the Max Azira/Miley Cyrus thing! They had some really cute pocketed tank tops, and the fake leather bomber jackets for 20 bucks! I don't know if they started selling more winter type clothes for that collection yet, but I was surprised. That dress is super cute on you though! I would have never guessed it was from Wal Mart. Gotta love a cheap score.

Wow, great dress! Is it velvet by any chance?

Thanks, ladies! Poster Girl, unfortunately it's not velvet (but I would love that!), it's a slinky jersey knit.
