We already focused on that inimitable sixteen-year-old sexpot Veronica Lodge, but what about her best friend/worst enemy, America's original sweetheart, Betty Cooper? Sure, she's a good student, helps out at home, always has a smile on her face...but even as a kid I suspected something a little wicked lurked under that bobbing blonde ponytail of hers. After all, she was always scheming to steal Archie from Veronica, and the way those girls fought suggested Betty's dates with the redhead might have been less than chaste...
Well, whether Betty really is the ultimate All-American Good Girl or if she's secretly a big ol' slut, the truth of the matter remains: while Veronica may have had a lock on super-sexy glamazon styles, Betty's casual goody-two-shoes look was a brand of cool that still made the boys come running. Running from Veronica's house, that is.

.) Betty always seemed to be out having fun in the sun. These Fred Flare swan-style shades in lavender are right up her alley.
.) Veronica wouldn't be caught dead in a hoodie (this one is from Forever 21), but a casual look suits Betty's easygoing style.
.) A feminine, subtly sexy camisole like this one from Forever 21 works like a secret weapon under a casual sweatshirt -- one zip and all the boys come running!
.) Betty always seemed to be studying. A big tote bag in a fun color (like this one from F21) holds all your schoolbooks and still manages to look fashionable.
.) My favorite Betty incarnation happened in the '70s, when she was always in big clogs and wide-leg jeans like this pair from Delia's.
.) Heels during the daytime? Not for Miss Cooper. These strappy skimmers from Urban Outfitters are comfortable enough for long walks in the park, but cute enough to keep Veronica on her toes.
.) Ronnie always implied that Betty was a bottle-blonde. She'll never tell, but real or fake, Marilyn hair treatment from Lush Cosmetics keeps those platinum locks bright and bouncy.
.) An updated take on those "Best Friends" necklaces from your childhood, from Fred Flare -- give one to your best friend. You can always steal it back if she moves in on your boyfriend.
.) Heavy makeup was Veronica's schtick -- Betty's more of a Burt's Bee's type. Cherry flavor, natch.
.) Betty's dates with Archie usually involved picnics in the park or shared shakes at Pop's Soda Shop. This girly eyelet dress from Delia's is perfect for both.
.) These vintage heart-shaped initial earrings from Day-Lab are dainty and sweet, just Betty's cup of tea.
.) These cognac leather wedges from Steve Madden have such a sexy, retro vibe. You could probably pick up a similar pair in any vintage store in Riverdale...if it only existed.
.) Betty would choose a feminine jacket for dates and parties, like this navy blue Peter Pan-collared affair from Forever 21.
.) Patchwork leather in earthy tones make for a perfect date-night clutch (from Urban Outfitters) that looks like it jumped right out of the pages of a 1974 copy of Archie's Pals & Gals Digest.
.) Betty bragged about not wearing makeup, but even her porcelain complexion could use a little pick-me-up at times. BeneFit's High Beam illuminator gives you a gorgeously natural glow.
