Make Like: E.G. Daily as Loryn from Valley Girl

All right, maybe Valley Girl was all about Julie, but Loryn was where it was at. E.G. Daily's Loryn, Julie's slutty buddy, is one of my favorite movie characters of all time. While the other girls were just messing around, Loryn was getting her hands (and other things) dirty, and she always looked great doing it. You may not have the puffy hair, the husky voice, or the zip-up red jumpsuit, but it is possible to take Loryn's trippindicular 80s look into today without looking like a total throwback. Gag me with a spoon!

1.) Neon Wayfarer-style sunglasses, like these from Fred Flare, keep you looking cool while checking out all the hot bods.

2.) Compared to Loryn, Debbie Gibson was a bit of a prude, but this t-shirt is far from grotacious.

3.) A big bangle is totally 80s -- the elegant peacock feather print on this one from Urban Outfitters updates the look.

4.) Acid wash is so wrong it's right. Kind of like hooking up with your friend's ex-boyfriend.

5.) Plain black faceted drops like these from F21 add the right amount of glamour to a more casual look.

7.) This structured bag from Urban Outfitters is big enough to take to a sleepover, and the brown leather grounds an 80s-inspired look and keeps your outfit from looking like you got lost on the way to Club Beat It.

8.) Classic pumps in highlighter colors are so Loryn. These snakeskin-print heels from Urban Outfitters are ladylike enough to take to work and awesome enough to dance all night in.

9.) Loryn always had color in her cheeks, whether it was from makeup or from...other activities. Max Factor lip color in 80s Pink goes on sheer for a pleasantly natural color, and Pop Blush Cake blends shades together for a custom flush.

10.) This poppy-colored Urban Outfitters clutch adds punch to an evening outfit the same way vodka adds punch to...well, to punch.

11.) If you're anything like Loryn, you never know when someone might be seeing your underwear, so you might as well make sure it's cute, like this ruffled pair from F21.

12.) If Betsey Johnson had made this perfume in the 80s you can bet Loryn would have worn it -- it's powdery sweet and feminine, with sexy notes of grapefruit and tangerine, amber and musk. A major step up from Love's Baby Soft!

13.) Hoops are such a "duh" accessory, so finding a pair in a fun color like these mustard plastic ones from Forever 21 will like totally make your look.

14.) This Twelve By Twelve cocktail dress has a print with an 80s feel, yet manages to avoid looking retro with its grown-up shape and a neutral color palette.

15.) Being underage doesn't stop a girl like Loryn from partying. Stash this neon flask in a clutch or a pocket and let the fun begin!

16.) Ankle boots are, like, totally the best fashion trend of the 80s! This super-affordable black suede pair is from Forever 21.

I'm a guy who turned 20 in 1983 when Valley Girl first came out.

I remember how much I completely admired Elizabeth Daily's breasts after the brief glimpse offered in that movie.

I've not seen them for years, but I can clearly recall that the appeal was the light-colored areolas which were so unique and attractive on her curvy bosom.

25 years later I find myself googling and wishing I could find that scene again here on the net somewhere.

I never knew what became of her after Valley Girl, but my admiration of her was very appreciative at the time.
